Unboxing & First Impressions – Sleek, Sporty, and Ready to Go

The OpenRock S2 comes in eco-conscious packaging, reflecting the brand’s clean, minimal aesthetic. Inside the box, you’ll find the earbuds themselves, USB-C charging cable, and a compact, portable case that feels durable yet featherlight. At just 7g per earbud, the OpenRock S2 feels like you're wearing nothing at all — and that’s a good thing.

The matte finish gives it a sleek, premium look, while the ear-hook design promises a stay-put fit for rugged movement. Whether you're scaling rocks or bounding up stairs, these don’t budge.

Real-World Testing – Crisp Sound and Outdoor Toughness

Now, let’s talk about performance. Unlike traditional in-ear buds, the OpenRock S2 uses BassDirect™ sound chambers to deliver deep, immersive bass even with your ears open. We tested these while running along Surfers Paradise and hiking in Queensland’s Hinterland — wind, sweat, and sun didn’t phase them.

  • Sound Quality: The bass is punchy and surprisingly rich for an open-ear design. Vocals are clear, mids are balanced, and highs sparkle without piercing.
  • Outdoor Use: The open design keeps you aware of your environment, perfect for road running or trail hiking.
  • Sweat Resistance: IPX5-rated, these earbuds held up to high-intensity interval training and long outdoor sessions without issue.
  • Battery Life: Expect up to 19 hours of total playback with the case — enough for a weekend hike or multiple gym sessions.

Who Should Buy the OpenRock S2?

If you’re someone who:

  • Spends time outdoors — running, climbing, cycling, or hiking
  • Needs earbuds that don’t block out environmental sounds for safety
  • Dislikes the discomfort of traditional in-ear buds
  • Wants lightweight, secure-fit audio gear for long hours

Then the OpenRock S2 is made for you. It combines comfort, open-air awareness, and solid audio in one rugged, featherlight package.

How It Compares – OpenRock S2 vs. Traditional Earbuds

While most sports earbuds focus on ANC and sealing out noise, the OpenRock S2 takes a different approach. Instead of sealing you in, it opens your world — literally.

Compared to bone conduction options like the Shokz OpenRun, the S2 delivers significantly more bass and a more natural listening experience. Versus in-ear ANC buds like the Soundcore Sport X10, the S2 is less isolating but far more comfortable for all-day wear.

Final Verdict – Is the OpenRock S2 Worth It?

Absolutely. The OpenRock S2 is a category-defining open-ear earbud designed with adventurers and athletes in mind. It’s ultralight, secure, sounds great, and keeps you connected to your environment — all while delivering immersive, full-bodied sound with zero ear fatigue.

And with 20% off using code Y8GT60B, it’s a no-brainer if you’re looking to upgrade your workout audio gear.

Never received it

I never received my purchase

Great watch, great price.

This is a quality wrist watch, not a cheap imitation. It looks just as it is advertised, it keeps impeccable time, and the weight of the watch feels like it should, solid and is an asset to my daily dress wardrobe.

Well I haven't recieved it yet, keeping up with the tracking and hope to get it soon, thanks

Still waiting ............

I was emailed a request by the merchant to rate the ring I purchased three weeks ago. However, I have yet to receive. I am still going to rate my purchase Five stars in hopes that I receive my ring and it looks as good in person as it does in pictures. I realize this item is delivered from China and
hope that’s the reason for its delay. Fingers crossed.
