Unboxing & First Impressions

Out of the box, the Airwheel SE3SL immediately impresses. Its sleek matte black finish, compact form factor, and premium aluminum alloy frame set it apart from traditional luggage. Measuring 36 × 24 × 53 cm (folded), it fits in most airline overhead compartments. Despite packing in motors and smart electronics, it only weighs 6.8 kg without the battery, making it one of the lightest smart ride-on suitcases available.

The packaging feels premium, and everything is neatly organized inside: the suitcase itself, removable battery, charging cable, and quick-start guide. From the very first touch, you know this is more than a gimmick—it’s a travel innovation.

Setup & Features

Getting the SE3SL ready is as simple as unfolding the telescopic handle, popping out the footrests, and powering it on. Within seconds, you’re ready to ride.

  • Top Speed: 10 km/h — fast enough to cruise through terminals smoothly.
  • Battery: Removable airline-compliant pack with ~10 km of range, USB-C charging, and power bank functionality.
  • Smart Handlebar: Includes throttle, brake, reverse, and a digital display.
  • App Features: Lock/unlock, speed modes, LED lighting control, battery stats, anti-loss tracking, and even remote driving.
  • Lighting: 9 customizable LED ambient modes for style and visibility.

The app’s controls go beyond the basics, letting you adjust the telescopic handle height, toggle ride speeds, and even locate your suitcase with built-in tracking.

Real-World Testing & Performance

During testing at Brisbane Airport and local car parks, the SE3SL proved to be more than a fun gadget—it’s a practical companion. The pneumatic tires absorb bumps and provide a surprisingly stable ride, even with tight turns and mild inclines. The 95 kg payload capacity handled both rider and luggage without strain.

Acceleration is smooth, braking is reliable, and overall control feels intuitive. Even better, people notice—you’ll get smiles, questions, and curious looks everywhere you go.

As a suitcase, the 20L storage capacity fits a short trip’s essentials (clothes, toiletries, and electronics). It includes a TSA-approved lock, keeping everything secure while traveling.

Who Is It For?

The Airwheel SE3SL is perfect for:

  • Frequent flyers who walk long distances in large airports.
  • Students or professionals navigating large campuses or convention centers.
  • Tech enthusiasts who love futuristic gadgets that turn heads.
  • Travelers who want both functionality and fun in one product.

Comparison to Other Smart Luggage

Compared to its predecessor, the SE3S, the SE3SL is lighter, more efficient, and packed with app-based upgrades. While some smart luggage options feel bulky or overengineered, this model strikes a balance between size, performance, and style. Alternatives often lack rideability or compromise storage space—the SE3SL offers both in one.

Final Verdict

The Airwheel SE3SL ride-on luggage isn’t just a novelty—it’s a genuine travel solution. Its smooth ride, app connectivity, solid build, and travel-friendly compliance make it one of the best smart luggage options in 2025. While storage is limited to 20L, it’s more than enough for short trips or carry-on essentials.

Pros: Lightweight, fun to ride, premium design, TSA lock, strong build, airline-approved battery, app features.
Cons: Limited storage capacity, not suitable for rough terrain.

If you’re looking for a travel gadget that blends convenience, fun, and futuristic style, the Airwheel SE3SL is worth every penny.

Never received it

I never received my purchase

Great watch, great price.

This is a quality wrist watch, not a cheap imitation. It looks just as it is advertised, it keeps impeccable time, and the weight of the watch feels like it should, solid and is an asset to my daily dress wardrobe.

Still waiting ............

I was emailed a request by the merchant to rate the ring I purchased three weeks ago. However, I have yet to receive. I am still going to rate my purchase Five stars in hopes that I receive my ring and it looks as good in person as it does in pictures. I realize this item is delivered from China and
hope that’s the reason for its delay. Fingers crossed.
