Soundpeats Air3 Deluxe Wireless Earbuds: A Budget-Friendly Alternative to Apple AirPods
I've reviewed heaps of SoundPeats earbuds over the years, and they've always done a good job of packing a lot into a pair of buds without blowing the price out. The brand-new SoundPeats Air6 HS got my attention straight away: they're light, easy to wear, they sound genuinely good, and for the way I actually use earbuds — the beach, walking, the gym, at home — these fit in really well. The question is whether they're the best SoundPeats yet.
I tested them the way you'd really use them: out and about on the Gold Coast, at the beach on a windy day, pumping through a gym session, walking by the river, and at home. Here's the honest take.

The SoundPeats Air6 HS are semi-in-ear true wireless earbuds — and that's the headline. They're not the kind of buds that jam right into your ear canal and start getting annoying after an hour. They're lighter, easier to wear, and far more comfortable, with an open style that suits all-day use. But SoundPeats still packed a heap into them: a 13mm triple-magnet bio-composite driver, LDAC hi-res audio support, Bluetooth 6.0, multipoint, IPX5 water resistance, and up to 45 hours of total battery life. On paper, they look really strong for the price.

03Design & Fit
Out of the box it's nice and simple, no frills: the Air6 HS themselves, the charging case, a USB-C cable, and paperwork. The case is compact, easy to throw in a pocket, and very much the SoundPeats style — logo on the back, USB-C underneath, buds sitting in there perfectly.
The buds are genuinely tiny — each one is only about 4 grams. As soon as you put them in, you can feel they were designed for comfort first. They sit very discreetly, close to your head, with a low profile on the ear. That's a real upgrade, because some of the older models could be hit-and-miss on fit. These feel safer, grippier, and closer, and they don't move at all — exactly what I want from an everyday pair.
04Sound Quality & Drivers
This is where they surprised me. For a pair of lightweight semi-in-ear buds, they sound much better than expected. There's a 13mm triple-magnet bio-composite driver inside, plus LDAC and hi-res audio support — which is genuinely impressive at this price point. In real life, that means better wireless quality and a stronger listening experience than you'd get from a cheaper pair of casual earbuds.
Despite the open semi-in-ear shape, they still seal on the ear well enough that a lot of outside noise doesn't come flooding back in. There's a really nice level of bass for this kind of bud, but they keep the sound clean — vocals come through with enough detail to stay interesting, and they never get harsh. For everyday music, walking, or throwing something on outside, they're very enjoyable.
05Real-World Testing
Beach Test — Gold Coast
I used them out on the beach on a windy Gold Coast morning, and the first thing I noticed was how easy they are to wear. They fit well, they sound really good, and even with the ocean behind me I couldn't really hear the background noise. They don't feel like they're digging in, and they don't feel like they're falling out — when the wind picks up, they don't blow out of your ears.
Gym & Running
At the gym they worked very well. The fit held through the workout, I couldn't hear the music playing overhead, and they didn't move at all — I tilted my head every direction and they stayed put. Because they're so light, you barely notice they're there. They're fine for running too, and since they're IPX5 rated, sweating at the gym or on a run by the coast isn't a problem.
Walking & Home
For everyday walking and home use, this is where the open semi-in-ear design pays off. You can wear them for hours without that hot, sore feeling sealed buds give you. With semi-in-ear buds the way they sit matters — get them seated right and they feel fuller, louder, and more balanced. Once they're in properly, you get a really nice sound.
06Features & Connectivity
There's a lot packed in here. Bluetooth 6.0 gives a stable connection and better efficiency, and they support dual-device multipoint, which is genuinely useful — it's a feature I find myself using more and more while working across devices. IPX5 water resistance covers sweat and light rain, and the discreet, low-profile design means you can pop them in, walk around, and barely notice them.
07Battery Life & Charging
Battery is a strong point. You get up to 9 hours on a single charge from the buds themselves — which is excellent — and up to 45 hours total with the case. If you're in a rush, a quick 10-minute charge gets you around 3 hours of playback, which is handy when you're heading out the door. In real-world use, the battery has lived up to those numbers for me.
08Call Quality
Calls are decent. There's a multi-mic setup for noise reduction, and while these aren't really marketed as a call-focused product, they handle everyday calls and chats well. For normal indoor and moderate outdoor environments they're solid — as with most lightweight stem buds, heavy wind is the main challenge.

The Verdict
SoundPeats keep evolving, and the Air6 HS are one of the nicest everyday SoundPeats earbuds I've used. The comfort is excellent, the fit is a clear step up from some older models, and the sound quality is genuinely enjoyable — clean, with a nice level of bass and LDAC hi-res support that's rare at this price. Battery life is strong, the multipoint and Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity are handy, and they're just easy to live with.
If you want earbuds that are comfortable, really light, easy to wear all day, and sound much better than the price suggests, these are perfect. And if you specifically prefer a more open, natural semi-in-ear fit over sealed in-ear buds, they're an easy recommendation.

10Frequently Asked Questions
Are the SoundPeats Air6 HS comfortable for all-day wear?+
Yes — this is their biggest strength. At around 4 grams per bud with an open semi-in-ear design, they don't jam into your ear canal, so you avoid the hot, sore feeling sealed buds can cause after an hour or two. They sit close to your head, stay discreet, and don't move, which makes them ideal for long days of walking, working, or wearing around the house.
Will they stay in during workouts and running?+
In my testing at the gym and out running, yes. The fit is grippier and more secure than some older SoundPeats models — I tilted my head in every direction and they didn't budge. With IPX5 water resistance, sweat from a workout or a run isn't an issue. Just note that as semi-in-ear buds, the seal is lighter than aggressive silicone-tip in-ears, so for very high-intensity activity a sealed pair may grip harder.
How good is the sound for the price?+
Better than expected. The 13mm triple-magnet bio-composite driver plus LDAC hi-res support is impressive at this price point. You get a nice level of bass while the sound stays clean, with clear, detailed vocals that never turn harsh. For everyday music, podcasts, and casual listening they're very enjoyable, and Android users streaming over LDAC get the full hi-res experience.
How long does the battery last?+
Up to 9 hours from the buds on a single charge, and up to 45 hours total with the charging case — strong numbers that have held up in real use for me. A quick 10-minute top-up gives you roughly 3 hours of playback, which is great when you're rushing out the door.
Do they work well for calls?+
They're solid for everyday calls and chats thanks to a multi-mic setup with noise reduction. They aren't marketed as a call-focused product, but for normal indoor and moderate outdoor environments they work well. Heavy wind is the main limitation — which is true of pretty much every lightweight stem-style earbud.
