Unboxing & Design: Surprisingly Complete for the Price

The Lefant M3L arrives in standard AliExpress packaging, but once inside, the contents are genuinely impressive. You get the robot itself, an all-in-one base station, dual spinning mop pads, two side brushes, spare dust bag, spare HEPA filter, floor cleaning solution, cleaning tool, power cable, and full manuals.

The base station is noticeably smaller than many premium competitors. Instead of a bulky dock that dominates a laundry or hallway, this one feels more like a compact “garage” for the robot. Inside are clean and dirty water tanks on top, plus a 3.2L dust bag behind the front panel. Lefant claims up to 8 weeks before replacing the bag in my home, with pets and kids, it averaged closer to 4 weeks, which is still solid.

The robot itself is slim at around 3.8 inches tall, allowing it to slide under couches, beds, and low furniture easily. On top sits a LiDAR tower for mapping, while underneath you’ll find a V-shaped main brush with an anti-tangle comb, large drive wheels, and dual spinning mop pads that rotate at around 200 RPM.

Setup & App Features: Easy Start, Solid Controls

Setup is refreshingly simple. Place the base against a wall, plug it in, fill the clean water tank (optionally adding the supplied floor cleaner), dock the robot, and let it charge. From there, download the Lefant app, scan the QR code on the robot, connect it to Wi-Fi, and you’re ready to run the first mapping clean.

The first run is best done in vacuum-only mode. The robot maps the house by running edges first, then filling in rooms with a clean zigzag pattern. Thanks to LiDAR and front obstacle sensors, it avoided chair legs, pet bowls, shoes, and cables far better than many budget robots I’ve tested.

Once mapping is complete, the app lets you split rooms, name areas, set cleaning order, create no-go zones, adjust suction power and water flow, schedule cleanings, and even control how often mop pads are washed and dried.

Real-World Cleaning Performance: Vacuuming & Mopping Tested

This is where the Lefant M3L genuinely surprised me. On the vacuuming side, I tested a mix of cereal, crumbs, dust, and plenty of pet hair. On maximum suction, the first pass picked up most debris, while a second pass left floors visibly clean. The V-shaped brush and anti-tangle comb worked well very little hair wrapped around the roller.

Suction is rated around 10,000–12,000Pa depending on mode, which puts it close to far more expensive models on paper. In practice, it handled rugs and carpet edges confidently without scattering debris.

For mopping, I tested dried-on coffee stains on tile the kind that usually need manual scrubbing. The dual spinning pads removed most of the stain on the first pass and finished the job on the second. When the robot docks, the base station washes the mop pads with 45°C hot water and then dries them, preventing that damp, musty smell common with cheaper systems.

Day to day, I scheduled a combined vacuum and mop for main living areas. The robot would clean a couple of rooms, return to wash the pads and empty dust, then head back out until the job was done.

Battery Life, Navigation & Obstacle Avoidance

Battery life is rated up to 220 minutes, and in my testing it easily handled my entire floor plan on a single charge. Navigation is efficient and logical rather than random, and obstacle avoidance was better than expected for the price.

It steered around shoes, cables, and random floor clutter without getting stuck. While it’s not quite as “wow” as flagship robots costing two to three times more, it’s far smarter than most budget bots.
